Terms of Service
Last updated: July 26, 2026
Introduction
Welcome to FrameMount (“we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of framemount.com and all of its picture-hanging and gallery-wall calculators, guides, and related features (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Acceptance and Changes
By accessing or using FrameMount, you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which forms part of them. We may update these Terms at any time; continued use after a change means you accept the current version.
Planning Estimates, Not Installation Advice
The Service exists to give general, educational estimates for planning how to hang and display art. The hanging-height, spacing, frame-size, hardware-weight, mat-size, and salon-grid calculators apply standard rules of thumb and simple geometry to the numbers you enter; their results are planning aids, not a professional installation specification, and not a guarantee that a fixing will hold. FrameMount is not a framer, a contractor, or an installer. For anything involving a heavy or valuable piece, an uncertain wall, or a fixing where failure could cause injury or damage, rely on the ratings printed on your hardware and, where appropriate, a qualified professional rather than this Service.
What the Service Provides
FrameMount offers, free of charge:
- A picture-hanging height calculator
- A gallery-wall spacing calculator
- A frame-size-for-wall calculator
- A hanging-hardware weight calculator

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
Your Responsibilities
When you use the Service, you agree to:
- Use the tools in good faith for your own home decorating and hanging projects
- Enter accurate figures, and check the dimensions, weights, and units before relying on a result
- Confirm hardware ratings and wall type, and take responsibility for what you drill, nail, and hang
- Not attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the Service
- Not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to infringe others’ rights
Assumption of Risk
Hanging art means drilling walls and trusting fixings with weight, sometimes over furniture or where people sit. You use the information on this Service at your own risk and remain solely responsible for deciding whether a given height, layout, or fixing is safe for your wall and your art. Always confirm the load rating of the specific hooks and anchors you use, and check for pipes and wiring before you drill.
No Warranty
The Service is provided “as is.” While we aim for accuracy, we make no warranties, express or implied, that calculations are error-free or fit for your particular purpose, and we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FrameMount and its suppliers will not be liable for any damages — including damage to walls, art, or property, or personal injury — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damage.
Intellectual Property
The site’s original text, design, and calculator code are the property of FrameMount and protected by copyright. Museum and Learn material sourced from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons remains under its original licenses. You may use the tools for personal, non-commercial purposes; you may not copy or repurpose the site’s materials for commercial use without permission.
Third-Party Links and Advertising
The Service may link to third-party sites and displays advertising through networks such as Google AdSense. We do not control or endorse third-party content, and using any linked site or advertised product is at your own risk.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, and you submit to the courts of that jurisdiction for any dispute.
